Arranging the Client Meeting

Speaker: Tiziana

Role: Accountant

Context

Tiziana talks about how she and Robert arranged an important client meeting

Short Story

A few days ago Robert and I needed to arrange a meeting with some important clients. We already knew that the clients wanted to meet on Tuesday morning and that they didn’t mind meeting at our offices, so we booked the meeting room for Tuesday at 10 AM. We knew that the meeting would last about 2 and a half hours so I suggested having lunch with the clients after the meeting.

‘Shall we invite the clients to lunch?’, I said and Robert replied ‘that’s a great idea, we will be able to get to know them better’.

So, I called the restaurant to book a table.

Now we needed to decide how to divide the tasks in the meeting.

‘I’ll present the balance sheet and talk about the overall profitability figures’, said Robert.

‘OK, great, I’ll present the cost of labour data and talk about all the employment issues’, I said.

After deciding this important division of work, the who is going to do what part, both Robert and I got on with preparing data for the meeting.

On Tuesday the clients arrived and the meeting went smoothly. We discussed all the figures with the clients, answered their questions and then went for a lovely lunch.
