Basic Structure of Get Used To

GET USED TO + gerund (-ing form) describes the process of becoming familiar with something new. It can be used in all tenses and with modal verbs.

Present, Past, and Future Forms

• Present: am/is/are getting used to
• Past: got used to / had gotten used to
• Future: will get used to
• Modal: might/could/should get used to

Examples

I’m getting used to waking up early.Current process of adaptation to a new routine
