Sara’s Office Requirements

1 Sara’s Story

Sara sits in the break room during lunch. She looks tired. ‘I have to follow so many rules here,’ she tells her friend Lisa. ‘I have to be punctual every day. I have to wear formal clothes. I have to smile at all clients. I can’t make personal calls on my work phone.’ Lisa listens and nods. ‘These are normal office rules,’ Lisa says. ‘But do we really have to follow all of them?’ Sara asks. ‘Yes, we do,’ Lisa answers. ‘Mr. Thompson is very strict about the rules.’
