A Meeting Scheduling Story: Sue’s Challenge

1 Sue’s Meeting Challenge

Sue works in a busy office. Last week, she needed to schedule a meeting with Tom, an important client.

Let’s have a meeting,’ Tom said.

Sue tried to find a good time. ‘How about Monday?’ she asked.

Sorry I’m not free Monday,’ Tom replied.

Are you free on Tuesday?’ Sue asked.

I can’t make it on Tuesday,’ Tom said.

This cycle of suggestion and refusal repeated several times.

Finally, Sue said, ‘We could meet on Thursday at 2 PM.’

OK yes I’m free then,’ Tom replied.

OK all agreed then,’ Sue said happily.
