The Holiday Adventure Continues
1 The Unexpected Adventure
Back at her office, Jenny was sharing stories about their recent group holiday with her colleagues. Everything had gone well until their rental car broke down on the winding mountain road to the beach. They called the car rental company for assistance, but they made us wait hours in the scorching heat. ‘Tempers got a bit short‘ Jenny admitted, ‘but luckily we are all good friends.’ Eventually, help arrived and it turned out fine in the end. The group finally made it to their beach resort where they spent wonderful days snorkeling, sunbathing, and lolling around doing nothing.

💬 Dialogue 1: Waiting for Assistance
Group of friends stuck on a mountain road with car trouble
Jane: “Any word from the rental company?”
Bill: “They said another hour at least. I can't believe they're making us wait so long.”
Jane: “I know it's frustrating. Our tempers got a bit short earlier, but let's try to stay calm.”
Bill: “You're right. I suppose we'll get help eventually.”
Jane: “At least we brought some snacks. Want to share these cookies?”
Bill: “That would help. Sorry if I seemed angry before.”
Jane: “No worries. The rental company called – they're finally on their way!”
