The doctor gives you a prescription for medicine. A prescription is a written order from the doctor. You take medicine to feel better. A tablet is a small solid piece of medicine you swallow. A dose is the amount of medicine you take. Medicine helps your body recover from illness. Sometimes people need surgery for serious problems. Surgery is when a doctor cuts into the body.

5 Body and Injuries

Blood is the red liquid inside your body. An injury is damage to your body. You might get an injury from an accident. A bandage is cloth that covers and protects wounds. Doctors use bandages to help injuries get better. When you are healthy, you feel good and you are not sick. Healthy people do not need to visit the doctor often.

6 Understanding Your Health

Doctors help you understand your symptoms and treatment. They explain your test results clearly. You can ask questions about your medicine and dose. The nurse can show you how to use a bandage. When you recover, you feel better and stronger. It is important to follow your prescription carefully. This helps you become healthy again.
