I wanted to update everyone on our current project timeline and some adjustments we need to make. As you know, we initially planned to deliver the final phase by the end of next month, but we need to bring forward several key deliverables due to our client James’s regulatory requirements.

Despite our best efforts to manage the increasing scope, we’re currently running late on the database migration. Maria and her team will need some spare time to catch up on the backend development. I remember discussing this risk during our initial planning, but we didn’t anticipate the extent of the technical debt we’d encounter.

I’ve had to stop several parallel initiatives to ensure we don’t put our main deliverables at risk. We simply can’t put off these critical updates any longer, especially with the security patches due next week. We’ll eventually need to address the postponed items, but right now, we need to focus on our core priorities.

I’ve spoken with Alex, and we’ve decided to put back the UI refresh until Q4. This should help us manage the immediate pressure on the development team. By making these adjustments now, we’re giving ourselves some breathing room to properly test and validate the critical features.

I know these changes might seem concerning, but I want to assure everyone that we’ll manage to deliver the essential functionality within the revised timeline. We’re being proactive rather than reactive, and James has already expressed his support for this approach. Let’s focus on getting back on track with these adjusted priorities, and we can revisit the nice-to-have features once we’re in a more stable position.
